    Mindfulness is the practice of present moment, non-judgmental awareness of one’s life experience. MBSR, based on the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn and the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness, is taught at integrative health centers, universities and teaching hospitals worldwide. Backed by neuroscience and ancient compassion-based practices, this highly participatory, evidence-based program combines meditation, mindful movement (gentle yoga), group discussion, and inquiry in a supportive learning environment to teach class participants how to use mindfulness to relate differently to stress. Mindfulness can be successfully learned and practiced by people of all backgrounds. No prior experience is necessary.
