Investigations Division

The Investigative unit supports the operations division of the Town and Country Police Department

The Investigative Unit is responsible for the proactive and reactive follow up investigations of reported criminal activity which occurred in the city of Town and Country.  The unit is under the command of the Support Services Lieutenant and is comprised of three detectives which include a Sergeant and 2 detectives.

Follow up investigations include but not limited to the following:

  • Child Abuse and Neglect
  • Juvenile offenses
  • Background investigations which include pre-employment, liquor license and solicitor permit applications
  • Missing Persons
  • Warrant applications with Federal, State and Municipal Prosecutors
  • Fraud/Identity theft Investigation
  • Intelligence gathering and Criminal activity analysis
  • Crime Scene Processing

All members of the Investigative Unit are members of the Major Case Squad (MCS) of Greater St. Louis. The MSC is a multi-state and multi-jurisdictional violent crimes task force that investigates homicides in the St. Louis metro area to include portions of Illinois.

Detectives are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and routinely called to assist patrol officers on newly reported crimes which require additional crime scene or investigative experience.

The Investigative unit invites citizens to contact us with questions relating to criminal activity trends, safety and security tips or any inquiries relating to the crime reduction and prevention in the City of Town and Country.
