Departments

The City of Town and Country currently has approximately 45 full time employees, and city departments include Finance, Parks & Recreation, Planning & Public Works and Police. The city currently contracts with the West County EMS and Fire District for fire and emergency medical services.

The employees of the city are dedicated to providing 1st-class services to the residents and businesses of Town and Country.

Known as the "Crossroads of West St. Louis County", the interchange of I-270 and I-64 is located in Town and Country.

  1. Administration

    The City of Town & Country operates under the Mayor-Council-Administrator form of government, whereby the Mayor and Board of Aldermen adopt and amend the policies of the City, and the City Administrator and City staff are responsible for carrying those policies out and implementing City programs. The Board of Aldermen meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 7 PM.

  2. City Administrator

    The City Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer of the City, and serves at the pleasure of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. City ordinance requires that the City Administrator is chosen on the basis of education, work experience and executive and administrative qualifications. In this position, the City Administrator supervises the general day-to-day operations of the City, and is generally responsible for carrying out all lawful policies established by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, and coordinating the activities of all departments and offices of the City. The City Administrator's duties also include submitting the City's annual Budget for the approval of the Board of Aldermen, and administering personnel programs for the City, including the appointment, promotion or discharge of City employees.

  3. City Clerk

    Major responsibilities of the City Clerk include upholding the laws of the city, maintaining and drafting official records such as Board of Aldermen, Planning and Zoning and Board of Adjustment minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and other vital documents.

  4. Finance

    The Finance Department is responsible for a wide variety of financial, personnel, and administrative functions of the City of Town & Country under the supervision of Betty Cotner, Finance Director / Treasurer.

  5. Municipal Court

    The Town and Country Municipal Court is a division of the 21st Judicial Circuit Court of the State of Missouri.

  6. Parks & Recreation

    The City of Town and Country Parks and Recreation Department manages the city's beautiful parks system and provides various city events throughout the year.
